11ª Ronda : Linares, 3-3-2008
Esta tarde tuvimos dos partidas principales. Por un lado el cotejo Radjabov vs Anand y por otro el encuentro Leko vs Carlsen.
Pronto se vio que la Defensa Caro-Kann de Anand le valía para alcanzar su objetivo, un fácil empate, ante un desentonado jugador azerí: Tan sólo dos jugadas nuevas y rápidas tablas (??).
Se hace necesario establecer en estos torneos del Grand Slam, la llamada "Regla de Sofía" o retomar de nuevo el "famoso" sistema Rentero (!?).
Por lo tanto, quedaba la partida entre Leko y Carlsen. Fue una Defensa Siciliana, Variante Sveshnikov. Parecía que la partida se encaminaba también a un fácil empate al entrar ambos jugadores en un final de torres y alfiles de distinto color. ¡Pero nada más lejos de la realidad!. Hoy el GM húngaro ha estado soberbio. La partida fue larga pero muy emocionante… .
Según Rybka, Carlsen pudo haber mejorado algo sus posibilidades de defensa, pero también es verdad que también la computadora sugirió muchas ideas interesantes para Leko. Al final, el encuentro se decantó "merecidamente" para el jugador magiar, sobre todo por la tremenda presión que estableció durante todo el encuentro,como muy bien reseñó el ICC.
También se produjo un rápido empate entre Aronian e Ivanchuk aunque éste se produjo tras complicada lucha.
Y por último, gran victoria de Topalov frente a Shirov. El jugador búlgaro hizo de las suyas y terminó ganando en brillante estilo.
El campeón del mundo saca ahora un punto de ventaja sobre tres jugadores que se sitúan al unísono en el segundo puesto: Aronian, Carlsen y Topalov.
A falta de tres rondas se nos antoja que será muy difícil desbancar del primer puesto al experimentado GM hindú afincado en España, Vishy Anand (!?).
