Ivanchuk-Aronian (4)
De nuevo Ivanchuk aplicó el mismo Sistema AntiMarshall que había empleado contra Leko en la segunda ronda de este torneo, pero esta vez no entregó en "f7". Ahora siguieron por los mismos cauces que la partida Carlsen-Leko del Torneo de Dortmund 2007, justo hasta el movimiento 21 (!?) en que Vasily introdujo una novedad.
Se podría decir que las blancas obtuvieron una mínima pero estable iniciativa con sus piezas mejor colocadas. De hecho "fácilmente" ganaron un peón. Pasaron a tener una clara ventaja y en el movimiento 28 Ivanchuk pasó por alto una pequeña combinación ganadora (a lo Capablanca), que le hubiera reportado prácticamente la entrada en un final ganado de torre contra alfil, ¡con dos peones de ventaja!.
Increíblemente Ivanchuk no lo vio, pero aún así siguió estando algo mejor. Lo más curioso es que Aronian volvió a mostrarse débil y permitió que Ivanchuk ganase de nuevo ese segundo peón. Lo malo es que pareció que el ucranio debió estar apurado de tiempo, porque no acertó con el plan ganador, pues al filo de la jugada 40 cometió un grave error que le costó una pieza, sobre todo porque tampoco fue capaz de encontrar otra continuación con la que podía mantenerse y ¡seguir dando guerra!... .
Lo que vino a partir de aquí fue la cristalización para el jugador armenio de su ventaja obtenida.
Lamentable derrota de Vasily Ivanchuk, uno de los reyes de Linares. Por otro lado, mucha suerte hoy para Levon Aronian.

Radjabov puso de nuevo en práctica contra Vishy Anand la Defensa Schliemann de la Apertura Española (3…f5) en donde el GM polaco Macieja le dio un serio disgusto al jugador azerí en la última Copa del Mundo.
La novedad llegó en la decimotercera jugada por parte del campeón mundial, Anand. No le supuso gran cosa a las blancas, porque rápidamente las negras obtuvieron un juego muy dinámico, con una auténtica exhibición de fuerza en la columna "f" con la que obtuvieron unas merecidas tablas. Se vio, con ayuda de la computadora, que las negras tampoco podían mejorar la línea usada en la partida.
Por lo tanto, lo dicho. Al final, justo empate y bien por Radjabov que con el intento de poner en práctica líneas de aperturas ezpeluznantes, se gana siempre la admiración del público. ¿Quién dijo que el ajedrez se limita a las mismas variantes iniciales de siempre?.

Acto seguido Carlsen ofreció como entrega su peón caballo de rey en aras de atacar por esa columna, discusión en la que el GM húngaro, fiel a su estilo, no quiso para nada entrar.
Como era de esperar, Rybka, sí que se come el peón, pero es una cuestión humana no hacerlo … .
La partida discurrió por cauces posicionales con control de la columna "d" por parte de las blancas a cambio de un peón doblado en la columna "g" y al final el empate fue cantado, aunque no por ello dejó de ser peleado por ambos jugadores que llegaron a entrar en un final tablífero de torre y alfil contra torre y caballo.

Variante Sveshnikov de la Defensa Siciliana. Malos tiempos para las negras en lo que va del torneo de Morelia/Linares. Ya anteriormente Leko se había impuesto con ella a Radjabov. Ahora le tocó el turno a Shirov.
Con lo que respecta a Topalov, se podría decir que su problema de hoy no vino de la apertura, pues lo que sucedió es que terminó perdiendo un final de cuatro torres completo. De esos instructivos, pues nunca hasta el momento de la rendición se llegó a cambiar siquiera un par de torres (!?)… .
Topalov pronto entró en graves problemas al no encontrar en su jugada 43 una continuación que le hubiese posiblemente dejado al borde del empate, según nos indica la computadora.
Perdió un peón y su posición quedó deteriorada, pues con buena técnica Shirov sacó el máximo provecho de su peón pasado hasta forzar la rendición del GM búlgaro, que vio en esta ronda frenado su brillante comienzo, aunque no le impidió abandonar el primer puesto, que comparte ahora con Aronian y Anand, todos con 2,5 puntos.
