Torneo de Morelia-Linares (12)

Las espadas en alto


Se disputó la duodécima ronda de la XXIV Edición del Torneo Intercontinental de Ajedrez de Morelia-Linares 2.007. Las espadas siguen en alto en la lucha por el primer lugar del torneo, que ya desde ayer quedó confirmado que es cosa de dos y que sigue en las mismas circunstancias a falta de las dos rondas finales que se disputarán este viernes y este sábado. Tras las tablas producidas en el día de hoy por Anand y Carlsen en sus respectivas partidas contra Aronian y Topalov respectivamente, veremos a ver como se desarrollan sus partidas en la etapa final. A Anand le quedan por disputar los cotejos contra Leko (con blancas) y contra Ivanchuk (con negras). Carlsen tiene que jugar contra Svidler (con blancas) y contra Leko (con negras).


Anand-Aronian: Apertura Española, variante Anti-Marshall. En su anterior encuentro en Wijk aan Zee 2.007, Anand le permitió el gambito al armenio, que le arrancó un meritorio empate, pero en el día de hoy optó por evitarlo. Se siguió por los cauces de una partida entre Bruzón y Aronian de la Olimpiada de Turín de 2.006. Pero en esta ocasión, Vishy cambió alfiles, Aronian jugó activo en el flanco de dama con 17…a5 y sobre todo con 20…Cc7 controló todas las posibles casillas de entrada a la dama blanca, llegándose a un empate sin más historia.

Topalov-Carlsen: Apertura Inglesa, Variante Simétrica por transposición. Formación India de dama. Con 10 Da4+ Topalov evitó el cambio de damas. Carlsen se mantuvo sólido en la apertura tras 13…Ae7! y las jugadas de Veselin con su dama no fueron muy vistosas. Terminó reculando hacia h3 y se vió obligado a cambiar alfiles para sacarla por fianchetto. Tras una incursión arriesgada con 17. Db7, Carlsen intentó tomar la iniciativa con 18…Cfg4! primero y con 19…Cc6! después. Tras las complicaciones, Magnus tuvo una buena oportunidad, según Rybka (eso sí, tras mucho análisis), para incrementar su ventaja. Optó a cambio por una línea segura y se llegó al empate.

Leko-Svidler: Defensa Siciliana. Ataque Inglés. La apertura de la élite. Se siguió con la línea 6…e5. A Topalov (con negras) en este torneo le jugaron 7.Cf3 tanto Ivanchuk, como Anand y como Leko. Pero ahora, el GM húngaro optó por la línea más normal: 7.Cb3, que ofrece una lucha más intensa con la presencia de enroques en flancos opuestos. Se dio una curiosidad que fue determinante para el desarrollo de esta partida y es que Leko no llegó a mover g4, lo que facilitó la tarea defensiva a Svidler cuando dispuso del golpe central, 15…d5!. El ruso ingeniosamente sacrificó un peón para obtener un dominio de la columna central y de la diagonal "a2-g8" y sobre todo logró que un caballo blanco se quedara ubicado en "b6" marginado para toda la partida. Por tanto, la compensación era muy grande por el pírrico material entregado. Tras disponer muy bien a sus piezas, la jugada 29…e4! proporcionó a Svidler no sólo una gran diagonal sino dos, para sus alfiles, que en ese momento ya parecían afilados cuchillos. La opción de pasar al ataque con su dama por "b4" presionando sobre la fatídica casilla blanca de "b2" fue determinante. Si a eso le añadimos también la posibilidad aprovechada, de entrar en "d2" con su torre, podríamos decir que Svidler se anotó un triunfo muy convincente, que llega después de haber logrado once empates consecutivos (!?) y que le aupan merecidamente al tercer lugar y en solitario.

Ivanchuk-Morozevich: Ivanchuk que perdió ayer fácil contra Carlsen, planteó de nuevo la Apertura Escocesa como ya lo había hecho en Morelia con Leko, donde atacó y casi le gana. Pero esta vez siguió con 5.Cb3 en lugar de 5.Ae3. Vasily en su jugada 9.De2 optó por el O-O-O, dándole un carácter agresivo a la posición. Morozevich, que es otro jugador espectacular, eligió también el juego complicado con 12…a5!. Pronto la posición se enredó y la estructura de peones de las negras quedó completamente dislocada. Con 17.Dd2? y no la casi obligada 17.b3, Ivanchuk se complicó su existencia y con 20. Ca4? perdió un tiempo precioso que le cedió la iniciativa al ruso. Con unos movimientos de caballo muy buenos, Morozevich se las ingenió para cambiar el bastión defensivo de las blancas, que constituía el alfil de "b3" y a partir de ahí el control de la columna "a" le proporcionó posibilidades de ataque al ruso. Se cambiaron los caballos y las negras establecieron una cuña muy desagradable con 29…b4. Se cambiaron muchos peones e Ivanchuk realizó dos movimientos muy flojos ( 35.e5? y 37.b5?) por la quinta fila, que le llevaron tras el cambio de las dos torres negras por la dama, a un final totalmente perdedor.

Terminamos con el torneo lagunero, del que adjuntamos comentada por Rybka 2.3, la muy buena partida disputada en la cuarta ronda por el GM israelí Mikhalevsky contra el GM letón Meijers; al que derrotó en una línea de la Apertura Catalana, que utilizara (con negras) el gran Paul Keres y que ahora su vecino del Báltico ha puesto en boga, tanto el año pasado en Liverpool como en el día de hoy en este evento.
